Yeah, the title of this post is weird, but I promise it relates to today's music selections.

My goal is to be more consistent in sharing music that speaks to me. Both new voices and old, with a focus on bringing a few more years to music that I feel deserves a larger audience than it currently enjoys.

I hope you will continue to stop in and give a listen to the stuff I spot or as always you can follow the Official "The Feels" playlist on Spotify.

Here are a few tracks for you to check out today. The first new are new releases and the third is a classic go to for me. All three carry more than a hint of melancholy to them and two of the three are true road songs.

Ben Bullington was a small town doctor whose work I did not discover until after his untimely passing from cancer. He wrote simple songs, that dealt with complex emotions, and I wish he were still around to create more of them.

I am fresh out of stones so I'll throw one post at two birds. Or something like that. I've wanted to review this album for a while and since I had the privilege of catching Sean McConnell open for a band Called NeedToBreath the other night, I decided to tack on a concert review. I will admit I went specifically to see Sean and knew next to nothing about the headliner. My appreciation for Sean McConnell began in 2012 with the release of his album Midland . The Fox Theater in Riverside, California is a nice venue with comfortable seating and ample leg room. One of those places that doesn’t offer a bad seat. Capacity is 1600, but   the space feels much more intimate than that.  There is power in a talented singer/songwriter standing below the lights with only his guitar. Dan Johnson -- Hemingway

Good music is about emotion. The simplicity of a good beat can be enough to put a little bounce in your step, but it takes more to dig deep into the psyche. Music is the art that distills feelings into bite-sized chunks, and at its very best, music transcends beyond the simple mirroring of emotions by revealing things we've never quite understood before. Musical greatness reveals something new. It teaches, enlightens, and allows people to empathize by offering a glimpse into the soul of others. Often music can do this unobtrusively through the power of melody and words, as well as the universal truths of humanity. Such is the case with Hemingway , an album by Dan Johnson on State Fair Records . So I had this gig writing for a music magazine. It was fun while it lasted, but we mutually parted ways after having a deep philosophical divide about the musical influence of the late great Waylon Jennings, compared to the bro country babble of one Luke Bryan. I was hired as the Indie music contrarian and they want to now go more mainstream which is certainly their prerogative, but my musical tastes are not in line with that vision and faking articles I am passionate about, is not why I write.
